William Woodling, Jr. Obituary

William N. Woodling, Jr., passed away peacefully on April 21, 2024 at his home.

Born January 20, 1945 in Danville, he was the son of the late William and Bernice (Yocum) Woodling.

He graduated from Lewisburg High School in 1962.  After graduation he served in the US Navy from 1962 to 1966.  Bill served as a place Captain on Air Craft Carriers.  During his time in the service he was sent on three Mediterranean Cruises, following his discharge he attended Williamsport Area Community College.

On July 27, 1974 he married Linda Prowant.  They share many experiences together over the years, and traveling to Montana was one of their favorites.  Together they enjoyed boating on Keuka Lake and recently the Susquehanna River.

Bill's love of horses led him to a career of selling and designing horse equipment.  He worked as a sales rep for Tex Tan and Circle Y before becoming a partner in Reinsman Equestrian Products.  While there he was instrumental in adding saddles to their line of products.  Bill served as Chairman of the Board until his retirement in 2006.

He enjoyed hunting and fly fishing.  Pursuit of an elk led him to Idaho and Montana.  He enjoyed fly fishing in local streams and in the West.  Many of his favorite fishing trips were in Yellowstone and Montana.

Bill always had a dog by his side, his most recent companion is Charlie, a Griffon.

In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by three brothers: Ed (Tori), Bob (Debbie), and Chris Woodling; one sister-in-law: Debra Parker; and several nieces and nephews.

At his request services will be private.  Memorial contributions in Bill's name may be made to Camp Victory, 58 Camp Victory Road, Millville, Pa 17856, Slate Run Brown Trout Club, 14167 Route 414, Slate Run, Pa 17769, or Christ's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 S. Third Street, Lewisburg, Pa 17837.

The family wishes to thank, Dr. Makary, the nurses and staff at the Knapper Clinic for the exceptional care that Bill was given.  Our thanks also goes to the wonderful nurses and aides at the Hospice of Evangelical for the care and kindness shown to Bill and our entire family.
