Wayne R. "Mike" Ashenfelder

Wayne R. “Mike” Ashenfelder, 89, of Anthony Twp., passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Watsontown Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Born June 7, 1935 in Danville, he was the son of the late Atwood and Cora Marie (Renner) Ashenfelder.  On June 21, 1964 he married the former Jane E. Ulrich and together they celebrated 60 years of marriage.

He was a graduate of Danville High School, after which he was drafted in the US Army.  Mike worked at Milton Shoe Factory then at Quality Nursery in Allenwood.  He also worked at Warrior Run School District for over 30 years.  Mike was the last remaining survivor of his immediate family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his seven brothers:  Allen, Lee, Brice, Paul, Edsel, Marvin, and Robert Ashenfelder; and his two sisters: Elinor Ashenfelder, and his twin sister, Marian Croman.

Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 11 AM on Tuesday, October 8, at Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Svc PC, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM with Rev. Brian Spangler, officiating.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
