Warren L. Blakeney, 77, of Oak Road, Orangeville and formerly of Augusta N.J. passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 at his home.
Born February 17, 1946 in Hackensack, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Charles and Florence “Lind” Blakeney. On July 26, 1980 he married the former Billie S. Mezzo, and together they have celebrated 43 years of marriage.
Warren was a 1964 graduate of Franklin High School, Franklin, NJ. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and honorably served his country for three years in Korea.
He was employed by Leigh-Hudson Railway, Conrail Railroad, and Norfolk Southern Railroad.
Warren was a member of the Orangeville Sportsmen’s Club. He loved target shooting, riding his tractors, gardening, and United States History, especially anything after the Industrial Revolution. He had a special gift for taking things apart and putting them back together.
Surviving besides his wife Billie, Warren is survived by a brother, Duane (Margaret) Blakeney; two nieces, Renee (Tom) Blakeney Spisak, and Michelle (Tom) Blakeney Spencer; a nephew, Justin (Brenda) Blakeney; great-nieces and nephews, Anson Spisak, Aimee Spisak, Brock Blakeney, Madelyn Blakeney, and Cooper Spencer; and two cousins, Barbara Prizzi and Carole Wood.
In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by an aunt, Edna Wood.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday Sept 29th from 4-6 PM at Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville where a funeral service will be held at 6 PM with Chaplain Alen Langellli, officiating.
Burial will take place Saturday, Sept. 30th at 11:00 AM with full military honors in Watsontown Cemetery.
