Wanda L. (Yocum) Groom

Wanda L. Groom, 78, of Turbotville, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.

Born May 13, 1946 in Limestone Twp., she was a daughter of the late Glenn and Isabelle (Miller) Yocum.  On May 1, 1964 she married William "Bill" Groom and together they would have celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Wanda loved spending time with her family and precious dogs.  She also loved dirt track racing and was part owner of The Selinsgrove Speedway with Bill.  

She coached boys and girls AYSO soccer for many years.  Wanda worked for Northumberland County as a foster parent, raising over 127 kids, retiring in 2005.

In addition to her husband, Bill, she is survived by: Billie Jo and Mark Sontheimer of Cogan Station, Corey Groom and Dana Mooney of Manhattan, Sherri Groom of Watsontown, Barb and Butch Kriner of Riverside, Gary and Joyce Rosencrans of Watsontown and Nubb "Walter" Yocum.; and Caleb-Mark Jeremy Groom and Michael Ammon, living at home.

Besides her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her brothers: Micky and Charlie; and two daughters, Wendy Sue and Lou Ann. 

Graveside services will be held privately in Turbotville Cemetery.
