Virginia M. “Ginny” Hackenberg, 96, left this world peacefully on Thursday, February 25, 2021, walking into the arms of our Lord and Savior. She has left behind beautiful friendships and dearly loved family.
Born January 19, 1925 in Trevorton, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Beatrice D. (Mengle) Evans. She married Harry M. Hackenberg and together they celebrated 55 years of marriage until his passing on August 19, 2006. They had resided in Watsontown for over 50 years.
Ginny was a 1943 graduate of Trevorton High School. She had worked at Best Furniture Company in Milton, and retired when they closed.
She enjoyed playing Pinochle, Bridge, and Scrabble, and lived her life with a fullness and beauty unique only to her. “Aunt” Ginny is leaving behind precious moments, cherished memories, and an incomparable love in the hearts of those who were richly blessed to be in her life.
She is survived by her nieces and their families.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lorraine Hubbler, Donna Evans, and Anna Krushinski.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Northumberland Memorial Park.
Her family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Evangelical Hospice, 235 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
