Steven R. Klapp, 57, of Watsontown passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at his home.
Born October 17, 1967 in Lewisburg he was the son of the late Samuel R. and Gladys J. (Truckenmiller) Klapp. On June 11, 1988 he married the former Denise L. Hartman and they celebrated 37 years of marriage.
Steve was a 1985 graduate of Warrior Run High School and a 1987 graduate of Penn College of Technology majoring in plumbing. In 1988, he joined the US Army Airborne 101st division and served honorably for 8 years. He worked at USP Allenwood Prison until retiring in 2017. Most recently he was working for Bigfoot Crossing.
He was a member of the Watsontown Masonic Lodge #401. Steve enjoyed fishing, riding his Indian Motorcycle and vacationing at Rehoboth Beach. He was an avid Penn State Football fan.
In addition to his wife, Denise, he is survived by his son, Brandon R. Klapp, of Watsontown.
Besides his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Rebekah Amato.
There will be a viewing held from 2 to 3 PM on Wednesday, June 18, at Christ Wesleyan Church, 363 Stamm Rd, Milton, where a funeral service will be held at 3:00pm, with Pastor Branden Mestach, officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Watsontown Cemetery.
