Shelva J. Witmer, 83, formerly of Allenwood, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born December 25, 1940 in Lewisburg, she was a daughter of the late Sheldon and Myrtle (Minier) Conner. On November 25, 1958 she married the late Arthur L. Witmer, Jr. and together they celebrated 52 years of marriage until his passing in 2011.
Shelva was a 1958 graduate of Watsontown High School. She worked for West Company at their plants in Montgomery and Williamsport.
She was a former member of the Allenwood Volunteer Fire Company.
Shelva enjoyed gardening and making ceramics. She loved Sunday supper with the whole family at her sister’s home.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenda J. Fisher, of Mount Carmel; three grandchildren, Shawn L. and his wife Toni Benfer, Samantha M. Blain and her husband Justin Jarrett, and Luke B. Fisher; and a great-granddaughter, Isabelle Jarrett.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shelva was preceded in death by a sister, Iris Remaley.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 11 to 12 on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main Street, Watsontown, where a funeral service will begin at 12:00. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
