Sandra Mincemoyer Obituary

Sandra K. (“Sandy”) Mincemoyer, 79, of Watsontown, PA, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, PA, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on July 1, 1945 in Rockford, IL, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen Wright.  On December 22, 1965, she married Ronald A. (“Ron”) Mincemoyer, and together they recently celebrated 59 years of marriage.

First and foremost, Sandy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her number one priority was raising her four children, but other ventures along the way included owning and operating Mincemoyer’s Agway in Milton, PA, alongside her husband Ron, driving school bus, and serving as a home health aide. Sandy was an avid lover of flowers and birds and spent many hours working and re-working the flower beds and landscaping at the family farm. Anyone who knew Sandy knew her love of Cardinals – she loved seeing them outside her windows and found joy in the many figurines and other pieces of Cardinal art throughout her home.

Sandy also enjoyed playing cards with the “Jolly Bunch Card Club” every month with her husband and was a member of St. John’s “Delaware Run” Lutheran Church, Watsontown.

In addition to her husband, Ron, Sandy is survived by her four children: Christopher S. (Julie) Mincemoyer of Derrick City, PA; Christina S. (Brian) Cotner of Watsontown, PA; Cherie S. Mincemoyer of Wilmington, DE; and Carla S. Mincemoyer of Harrisburg, PA. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Christopher A. Mincemoyer, Sarah M. Cotner, Tyler A. Cotner, and Sophia M. Gomez; her brother, Fred Wright, of Rockford, IL; and numerous “fur kids” and grand “fur kids.”

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lyle “Tom” Wright.

In keeping with Sandy’s wishes, no services will be held.

Family and friends wishing to honor Sandy are invited to make a donation in her name to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 6590 Musser Lane, Watsontown, PA 17777, or to an animal rescue organization of your choice. Sandy’s love of animals was apparent throughout her life.
