Ruth A. (Burrows) Barr

Ruth A. Barr, 95, of Watsontown, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Watsontown Health & Rehabilitation Center.  

Ruth was the daughter of the late Sanford and Pauline Burrows. Ruth was married to her husband, Robert Deacon Barr for 63 years until his passing on Feb. 26, 2011.

Ruth worked several jobs, including Jasper, McCormick Cleaning Service, JPM Manufacturing and retired from working at Kramm's Nursing Home.

Ruth loved her family and enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them.  She enjoyed going on vacations to Keuka Lake and going for fast boat rides.  She also liked going fast on her son-in-law’s motorcycle.   Ruth loved mowing grass, shoveling snow and having a beer with her husband afterwards. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas Time.  She always felt the need to overwhelm her family with lots and lots of gifts, food and love.

Prior to her death, Ruth was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stacey Ann Mazol; a brother Theodore Burrows; and by her husband Robert Deacon Barr.

Surviving are her two daughters Sally L. Barr Mazol and husband Jim, and Sandra Barr Temple and husband Jim; grandchildren: Tanya L. Mazol, Samuel R. Temple and wife Heather, and Crystal M. Temple Doresky and husband John.  She is also survived by great-grand-children:  Gracie Mae Doresky, Evan James Nittany Doresky, Logan Robert Temple and Daniel Toby Souder.

There will be a graveside service held at 11 AM on Friday, October 4, at Watsontown Cemetery with Rev. Doug Schader, officiating.

Donations can be made in Ruth's name to the Warrior Run Fire Company or your local SPCA.
