Roy Russell, 85, of Turbotville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026.
Born on May 19, 1941, Roy lived a life rooted in family, love, and simple pleasures. He was a man of strong convictions, known for his loving nature, stubborn determination, strong mind, open heart, and quick wit. Those who knew Roy will always remember his "smart mouth," which often brought laughter and made every conversation memorable. He was the kind of man who thought Starbucks was fancy but would never turn down a cup of free coffee.
Roy found joy in life's simple treasures. He loved spending time at flea markets, searching for unique finds, and cherished every opportunity to spend time with family. Above all else, his greatest pride was the family he built and the love he shared with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Sally Russell, and his sister, Nancy.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Carolann Russell; his children, Roy Russell and his wife, Judy Russell; Cheryl Ann Gutierrez and Jose "Jay" Gutierrez; and Michael Russell. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Jalyssa Russell, Brendin Russell, Christina Russell, and Nicholas Russell; and his beloved great-grandchild, Oslind Russell. He is also survived by his sister, Lucille Shuman, along with many extended family members, friends, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness, humor, and unwavering love.
Roy's legacy will live on through the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the countless memories he created with those he loved. Though he will be deeply missed, his strength, warmth, and enduring love will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
A celebration of Roy's life will be held at a later date. The family appreciates the love, prayers, and support extended to them during this difficult time.
