Raymond D. Swartz, 97, formerly of Milton, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Nottingham Village, Northumberland where he had been residing.
Born July 24, 1926 in Rush Twp., Northumberland County, he was the son of the late Howard and Hazel (Pursel) Swartz, Sr. He was married to Helen Swartz for 46 years until her death on September 10, 2022.
He served honorably with the US Army during WWII and enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, playing cards, and bus trips to the casinos.
Surviving are three daughters: Janice M. Schlegel and her husband Montana L., of Milmont, Louise J. Styers and her husband Warren, of Mifflinburg, and Dawn E. Randler and her husband Ronald W., of Danville; four grandchildren: Jennifer Fenstermacher, Kyle Miller, Brooke Styers, and Torie Libby; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Swartz and his wife Margaret of Danville; and three sisters: Dorothy Kline and her husband Anthony of Northumberland; Mary Fisher and her husband Robert of Lewisburg; and Evelyn Kearns and her husband Thomas of Danville.
Preceding him in death besides his wife and parents were five brothers: Howard, Jr., William, Frank, Carl, and Art Swartz; and two sisters: Grace Kauwell and Margaret Everett.
Burial in Green Lawn Cemetery, Montgomery, will be held at the convenience of the family.
