Paul L. “Butch” Campbell, Jr., 80, of Allenwood, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Evangelical Community Hospital.
Born September 4, 1943 in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Paul L., Sr. and Minnie (Bennett) Campbell. On October 12, 1980 he married the former Holly M. Gray, and together they celebrated 43 years of marriage.
Butch was a 1962 graduate of Warrior Run High School where he was a member of the FFA (Future Farmers of America). He served honorably in the US Air Force being stationed in Thailand. While in the Air Force, he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Longevity Service Award. He drove truck and was a farmer; he also served on the Gregg Twp. Supervisor Board and the Municipal Authority Board.
He was a member of Highland Lake Manor of Hughesville. Butch was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed running a family butcher shop.
In addition to his wife, Holly, he is survived by his two sons: Ricky L. Campbell and his wife Julie, of Allenwood, and Eric P. Campbell, of Watsontown; three daughters: Vicky K. Hessman, of Watsontown, Bobbi J. Bressi and her husband David, of Kulpmont, and Heidi M. Watts and her husband Corey, of Mill Hall; five grandsons: Cody Campbell, Zachary Campbell, Tyler Evans, Seth Smith, and Derrick Smith; one brother: Steven Campbell and his wife Cherri, of Lewisburg; and two sisters: Patricia Gohrs and Bonnie Campbell, of Williamsport.
There will be a private memorial service held at the convenience of the family.
