Nelson J. Yost

Nelson J. Yost, 92, of Lewisburg, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026, peacefully with family by his side, at home.

Born December 25, 1933 in White Deer, he was a son of the late Paul N. and Mary E. (Stahley) Yost. On September 28, 1952 he married the former Toletha M. Huff and together they have celebrated 73 years.

Nelson attended Milton High School. He worked at Pennsylvania House for 45 years and was a substitute custodian in the Lewisburg Area School District. 

He was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg.

Nelson enjoyed woodworking; building and refinishing furniture; fishing; golfing; and playing softball. 

In addition to his wife, Toletha of Lewisburg, he is survived by a daughter, Diane M. Yoder and her husband, Keith, of Lewisburg; a granddaughter, Toletha Yoder, of Lewisburg; and a sister, Yvonne Seidell, of Danville.

Nelson was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Franklin, Kenneth, Charles, and Roger Yost; and sisters, Rosella Hartman, Mary Ellen Snyder, Ruth Kemble, Arlene Moyer, and Bonnie Hauck. 

Family and friends are invited for a visitation from noon to 1:00PM on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 South Third Street, Lewisburg, where a funeral service will begin at 1:00PM. Burial will follow in Lewisburg Cemetery.
