Miriam M. Deibler, 98, formerly of Watsontown, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026 at Celebration Villa, Lewisburg.
Born August 30, 1927 in Millersburg, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Maude (Hain) Jury. On June 15, 1946 she married Roy E. Deibler, and together they celebrated 62 years of marriage until his passing in 2009. Roy and Miriam owned and operated The Watson Theatre for 25 years, until selling it in 1995.
Miriam retired from Acme Markets, after 31 years of service. She also worked at Country Cupboard, Lewisburg and volunteered at Evangelical Community Hospital. Earlier in life, she was a Girl Scout Leader.
Miriam was a former member of First Lutheran Church, where she served as Superintendent of the Primary Department, Sunday School Teacher, and played piano. Following, for many years she was a member of Watsontown United Methodist Church. Most recently, she was a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, Watsontown.
She enjoyed traveling, making afghans, and playing BINGO but most of all, she cherished her time spent with family.
Miriam is survived by a son, Rick E. Deibler and his wife, Patricia, of Jamison; a daughter, Darla L. Barefoot, of Watsontown; 6 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren; and 1 Great-Great-Grandson.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Deibler Moll in 1970; two brothers, Clarence and Styron Jury; and a son-in-law, C. Edward Barefoot.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10-11 AM on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main Street, Watsontown, where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Rev. Donald L. Snyder, her pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Watsontown Cemetery.
