Mary Ann Balliet, 78, of Allenwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at her home.
Born on March 23, 1944 in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Mary (Steinson) Knappenberger. On October 11, 1985 she married Gilbert W. "Sonny" Balliet and together they celebrated 28 years of marriage until his passing on May 10, 2014.
She was a graduate of the Bethlehem School District, attending Fountain Hill Elementary School. Mary Ann worked various places including the Turbotville Dress Factory, the Mansion House in Watsontown, the Main Street Tavern, and Country Cupboard where she worked in the bakery.
She loved solving puzzles, going camping, and making crafts which she enjoyed selling and sharing on Facebook. Most of all she cherished all the time she could spend with all of her family.
Mary Ann is survived by her four sons: Randy Cope and his wife Lisa, of Watsontown, Steve Cope and his wife Jessica, of LA, Mike Cope and his wife Emily, of VA, and Gilbert Balliet and his wife Melony, of Watsontown; three daughters: Andrea Cope and her companion Jeff Moore, of Watsontown, Cindy Boroch and her husband Tony, of Montoursville, and Christine Stiner and her husband David, of Allenwood; three step-children: Steve Balliet and his wife Terry, of Watsontown, Stacy Mann and her husband Jeff, of Watsontown, and Wendy Balliet, of NC; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her two sisters: Jean Cody and Jan Schiffner.
Private services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Watsontown Cemetery.
