Margaret A. Young, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on June 3, 2026, at the age of 63.
Margaret was a devoted human resources professional for many years before illness changed the course of her life. Those who knew her will remember her kindness, strength, humor, and generous heart. She was always willing to help anyone in need and truly had a heart of gold.
Margaret loved singing, playing cards, working in the yard, laughing, and having fun. Throughout her life, she was surrounded by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, and she treasured the love, laughter, and memories they shared together.
Above all, Margaret loved her family. She was a devoted and loving mother to her son, Shawn, who was truly her life. Her love for him was unconditional, and he remained her greatest blessing, greatest pride, and deepest joy. She was also blessed with two beautiful grandchildren, Aaliyah and Remi, who were the sunshine of her life. Margaret loved spending time with her beloved “littles,” Carter, Carlee, Lennox, and Scarlett, who brought her so much joy.
Margaret also held a very special place in her heart for Liam, her beloved “little buggy,” who predeceased her at only five years old. Their bond was precious, and his memory remained forever close to her.
Margaret shared an inseparable bond with her mother and grandmother. In her younger adult years, she spent much of her time with her very special niece, Crystal, with whom she shared many early years and cherished memories. Their bond was one she carried with her throughout her life.
She also shared a very special life with her sister Regina and her niece Jeanette, who took extra special care of her during her times of need. They were truly her angels.
Margaret was predeceased by her father, Richard A. Young; her stepfather, Herbert R. Mills, who was a father to her for many years of her life; her mother, Eleanor A. Mills (Pratt); her grandfather, Edward F. Pratt; her grandmother, Jean M. Pratt (Johansen); and her special heart, Liam, her beloved “little buggy.”
She is survived by her son, Shawn; her grandchildren, Aaliyah and Remi; her siblings, Penny (Tim), Nikki (Dave), Richard (Michelle), Regina (Miles), and Pamela; and her nieces and nephews, Crystal, Kimberly, Nikki Jr., Ronnie (Marie), Mackenzie, Jamie, Samantha, Richie, Danny, Sonja (Jordan), Shannon, and Jeanette.
Margaret will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
A private celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
