Lois Hower Obituary

Lois Jean Hower, 84, of Turbotville, peacefully passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born May 20, 1939 in Ashland, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Bowe) Reese. On September 3, 1960 she married Lewis C. Hower and together they have celebrated 63 years of marriage.

Lois was a graduate of Frackville High School. Upon graduating from Nursing School, she mainly worked in Obstetrics at Geisinger Medical Center. She also briefly worked at Harrisburg and Divine Providence Hospitals. Lois was proud to say she helped deliver babies over multiple generations.

She was a member of Fairview Church of the Nazarene. Lois enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was an excellent cook and pianist, but will be most remembered for her sweet soul and love of her family.

In addition to her husband, Lewis of Turbotville, she is survived by three daughters, Lori A. Talarico and her husband Bill, of Wrenshall, MN; Sharon L. Danley and her husband, Wade, of Muncy; and Amy J. McCollum and her husband, Dan, of Turbotville; 8 Grandchildren; 7 Great-Grandchildren; and two brothers, James (Peggy) Reese; and Robert (Janet) Reese.

Lois was preceded in death by a son, Philip C. Hower; and a sister and brother-in-law, Robert and Joan Hower.

Services and burial at Turbotville Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests taking a walk, stopping to enjoy the flowers, or listening to piano music to remember Lois.
