Lois L. English, 95, of New Columbia, passed away on Saturday April 27th, at Watsontown Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Born in White Deer Twp., Union County on April 21, 1924 she was the daughter of the late George G. and Elsie Mae (Harltey) Keener. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William F. Poeth Jr. and Charles H. English.
Lois graduated from Milton High School in 1943 and had worked at American Home Foods early in life. Later she was a LPN at the former United Methodist Home, Lewisburg for 17 years and provided home health care for area residents.
She was of Methodist faith and contributed to many organizations. She enjoyed her flower gardens at her home in New Columbia.
Surviving are her son, William F. Poeth III, of Potts Grove; a daughter, Joanne Schrawder of New Columbia; a grandson, Jason Nile Poeth and his wife of Mobile, AL; many nieces and nephews; and several step-children and step-grandchildren in the Danville area.
Preceding her in death besides her husbands were two brothers, George H. and John R. Keener; and a sister, Alice Grove.
Family and friends are invited to call from 10 – 11:00 AM, Thursday May 2nd at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main Street, Watsontown, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.
