Larry L. Young, 73, of Watsontown, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025 at his home after a five year battle with esophageal cancer.
Born August 1, 1951 in Danville, he was the son of the late Lewis M. and Thelma (Gresh) Young. On April 16, 1977 he married the former Stephanie L. Russell and they have celebrated 47 years of marriage.
He was a 1969 graduate of Warrior Run High School, where he played football, and a 1971 graduate of the former Williamsport Area Community College where he earned an Associate Degree in Business Management.
Larry retired from Gander Mountain and earlier in life owned and operated Camo + in Watsontown for 13 years.
He had coached Little League baseball in Watsontown, enjoyed playing ice hockey, softball, walking, and hunting, especially hunting rattlesnakes with his family. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Flyers and Phillies.
Surviving besides his wife, Stephanie Young, at home, are two sons: Derek L. Young and his wife Lisa of Turbotville and Zackary L. Young, at home; a grandson, Skylar L. Young at home; three brothers: Jeffrey L. Young, Lorne L. (Allison) Ernst and Eric E. Ernst; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was a brother, Ernie Ernst.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
