Joseph J. Byler, 21, of New Columbia, passed away on January 29, 2026 at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.
Born October 3, 2004 in New Wilmington, PA, he was a son of John J.S. and Barbara D. (Troyer) Byler.
Joseph enjoyed riding dirt bikes and listening to music. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers: Noah J. Byler and his wife Lucinda, of Turbotville, and Chad William Byler, of Bloomsburg; two sisters: Lena J. Hostetler and her husband Levi, of Turbotville, and Ada J. Zook and her husband Levi, of Crofton, KY; nieces and nephews: Jared, Lori, and Jamiam Hostetler, Victoria, Jordan, Clayton, and Vivan Zook, Brian, Wyatt, and Ellie Byler; and his maternal grandparents: Dan and Lena Troyer, of New Wilmington.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Katy Byler.
There will be a viewing for family and friends held from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, February 2, and from 10 to 11 am on Tuesday, February 3 at Derry Mennonite Church, 520 Preserve Rd, Danville, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 am with Ed Derstine, officiating. Burial will follow in Derry Mennonite Church Cemetery.
