James R. Prokop, Sr.

James R. Prokop Sr., 80, of Lewis Twp., Muncy, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2025 at his home.

Born August 27, 1945 in Lewis Twp., Northumberland Co., he was a son of the late John and Dorothy (Fawber) Prokop.  On June 15, 1963 he married the former Christine Brittian and together they celebrated 50 years of marriage until her passing on May 26, 2014.

James worked at Sprout-Waldron in Muncy for over 30 years, later retiring from Wenger Feeds.  He enjoyed feeding hummingbirds, hunting, racing, snowmobiling, motorcycle riding, and late model cars.  James enjoyed paying it forward, picking up the bill for other people's meal.

He is survived by his three children: James R. Prokop Jr. and his wife Tracey, of Muncy, Lonnie Prokop and his wife Laura, of Millville, and Peggy Sue Hiller and her husband Todd, of Allenwood; six grandchildren: Jacob (Ashley) Hiller, Jim (Betsy) Hiller, Emily (Patrick) Myers, Brent (Brian Fredo) Prokop, Nicole Prokop, and Jonah Prokop; and five great-grandchildren: Conner, Peityon, Easton, Vaughn, and Bonnie.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Prokop.

Per his wishes there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest's donations in his memory be made to a charity of your choice.
