James T. "Jimmie" Lehman, Sr., 86, of rural Bloomsburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 with his loving wife, Irene, his loving feline companion, Diesel, and his cherished granddaughter, Olivia and family by his side at his home.
Born January 27, 1937 in Danville, he was the son of the late Harry and Ruth (Galbel) Lehman. On October 25, 2014 he married the former Irene M. McCormick and they just celebrated nine years of marriage.
A truck driver most of his working years, he drove for Aurand Trucking for more than 20 years, drove for Marr Trucking in Strawberry Ridge, and retired after more than 15 years with Forman's Grain. He loved driving Mac trucks and his Slingshot, participating in tractor-pulls, and in his earlier years, hunting. He enjoyed going to the Tin Cup and the Roost restaurants near Turbotville and watching professional wrestling.
He attended Trinty United Church of Christ, Strawberry Ridge.
Surviving besides his wife, Irene Lehman, at home, are a son, Ronnie Lehman and his wife Michelle of Milton; three step-sons: Richard (Alice) Temple of Catawissa, Travis Snyder of Danville, and Lionel (Ginger) Duke of Mifflinville; three step-daughters: Martha (Rob) Fritz of Mississippi, Clorice (Keith) Summers of Milton, and Tina (Daniel) Middleton of Indiana; 12 grandchildren and over 25 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were his first wife, Betty Lehman; a daughter, Dorene Vensel; a son, James T. Lehman, Jr.; two brothers and a sister.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville where the funeral will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Shawn McNett officiating. Burial will follow in Turbotville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory be made to either Commonweath Hospice of Berwick, 1409 North Market St., Berwick, PA 18603 or to Trinity United Church of Christ, 850 Cardinal Road, Danville, PA 17821.
The family would like to thank the nurses of Commonweath Hospice of Berwick and at Geisinger Medical Center on AP E-5 for their loving care of Jimmie.
