James D. Foresman, 89, of Allenwood, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 surrounded by family at home.
Born April 7, 1934 in Elimsport, he was the son of the late David Watson and Helen M. (Fritz) Foresman. On August 31, 1977, he married the former Mary Guyer, and together they have celebrated 46 years of marriage.
James was a 1952 graduate of Watsontown High School. Afterwards, he honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. James drove truck for 10 years, and then went on to work at Zenith and Philco Ford. Later, he enjoyed time spent working with his son at his excavation business.
He was a member of Watsontown Masonic Lodge #401, Turbotville VFW Post 8206, and Watsontown American Legion Post 323.
In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by two sons, James D. Foresman, Jr. and his wife, Jill; and Steven B. Foresman and his wife, Carla; a daughter, Wendy Narug and her husband, Joe; a daughter-in-law: Brenda Eyster; 8 Grandchildren, Jerald (Michele) Foresman, Allicia (Robert) Eyster-King, Jessica Ciavarella, Dayne (Carla) Foresman, Tiffany (Matthew) Ostrenga, Adryan (Thomas) Clapp, Kaitlyn (Dave) DeBoer, and Travis (Tiffany) Eyster ; 9 Great-Grandchildren, Bradyn, Bradley, and Leah Foresman; Ava, and Isla DeBoer; Ryleigh Ciavarella; Brynlee Foresman, Everleigh Foresman, and Kaden Ostrenga; and a brother, Hugh Foresman, Watsontown.
James was preceded in death by his sons, Gerald Foresman and Thomas Eyster; sister, Susan Reaser; and four brothers, David, Robert, Daniel, and Richard Foresman.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 11:00AM at Elimsport Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Huratiak, officiating.
