Jack L. Ranck, 91, of Milton, passed away peacefully Friday, October 11, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born March 15, 1933 in New Columbia, he was the son of the late Howard G. Ranck and Martha E. (Buss) Ranck Shultz. On June 15, 1957 he married the former Patty A. Maurer and they have celebrated 67 years of marriage.
He was a 1951 graduate of the former North-Mont High School and had worked at the West Company and Scott's Florals.
Jack was the Worthy Patron of the Danville Eastern Star, a member of the Elmira Heights Masonic Lodge, the Williamsport Consistory and the Irem Temple Shrine. He was a past-president and past-treasurer and member of the Montour Delong Fair Association and was involved with buying the land and moving the fair to its current location. He was a member of the California Grange, the Pennsylvania Grange, and the National Grange where he served as master and secretary. He played on the Grange softball team and was past-president of the Washingtonville Little League. He served as Director of the Montour County Conservation District and was a member of Washingtonville Lutheran Church.
Jack often said he was not old enough to retire, loved to play dominos, and every summer he would plan a vacation with close friends. But most of all, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports.
Surviving besides his wife, Patty, at home are two children: a son, Timothy H. Ranck and his wife Viola of Watsontown, and a daughter, Tracy G. Jenkins and her husband Buster of Milton; four grandchildren: Craig Ranck and his companion Amanda Pfleegor, Tyler Jenkins and his wife Kayleen, Aidan Ranck, and Brooke Wertz and her husband Wayne; and three great-grandchildren: Corbynn Ranck, Cadyn Huffman, and Lainey Jenkins.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was a baby girl who died in infancy, and a brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Ethel Ranck.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10 to 11:00 AM on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Brooks Funeral Home and Cremation Svc., PC, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Erwin C. Roux of Zion Lutheran Church, Turbotville. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
