Guy C. Edinger, 99, formerly of Watsontown, passed away Monday, March 23, 2020 at Milton Nursing Rehabilitation Center, where he had been residing.
Born August 23, 1920 in Lewisburg, he was the son of the late David and Emma (Smith) Edinger. On November 8, 1969, he married the former Catherine F. Williams and together they celebrated 40 years of marriage until her passing on July 12, 2010.
Guy was a 1940 graduate of Mifflinburg High School. From 1940 to 1945 he worked for the railroad before he served honorably in the US Army starting in 1948.
He held many jobs, working for Pennsylvania House in Lewisburg, Boyardee’s in Milton, Bucknell University as a security guard, and he retired from the West Co. in Montgomery. Guy was also a plasterer working with his father and brother at, Paul Edinger and Brothers, in the Mazeppa area.
Surviving are his two sons: Myron C. Edinger and his wife Jean, of Mazeppa, and Nelson R. Edinger and his wife Sharon, of Mifflinburg; one daughter: Carolyn White, of Mifflinburg; grandchildren: Christine (Bill) Reber III, Phillip (Shakira) Edinger, Debbie White, Rodney Edinger, Nancy (Brooks) Zechman, Elaine (Bobby) Edye, and Gena (Timothy) Anspach; thirteen great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Guy was preceded in death by his granddaughter: Karen Hoffman; five brothers: Paul, Howard, Norman, Ralph and David; two sisters: Ruth Danowsky and Naomi McClure.
There will be no funeral or memorial services per Guy’s wishes. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Mazeppa Cemetery.
