Edwin H. Tarr, 90, of Danville, PA, formally of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.
He was born on June 29, 1934 to Edwin H. and Ethel Mae (Lanyon) Tarr in Pittsburgh, PA. After attending local public schools, Edwin worked briefly at Kress Pattern Company.
In 1955, he met Joyce Olga Tilley in Pittsburgh and they married on February 9 of that year.
Edwin later went on to a career in home construction and remodeling with Howard Myers Company. Later he became self-employed in general carpentry.
After retirement in 1999, Edwin spent his free time hunting, fishing, taxidermy, woodworking and traveling.
Edwin was predeceased by a sister, Ethel 'Toots' Donehue. He is survived by his children: Lon (Cindy Murray) Tarr, Bonnie Lee (Perry) Ricciardi and Randy (Jane Hardwick) Tarr; grandchildren Brandon, Jared, Jennifer, Justin and Taylor; great-grandchildren Leila, Madison, Maci, Kinsley, Avery, Brennan, Finley and Hadley.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday October 31, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. services with Rev. Mark Conklin officiating at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., at 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139. Interment to follow at Riverview Memorial Park.
