Earl J. "Chub" Wommer Sr.

Earl J. “Chub” Wommer Sr., 65, of Montgomery, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the UPMC Susquehanna – Williamsport Hospital.

Born April 16, 1956 in Muncy, he was the son of the late Frederick and Constance (Wells) Wommer.  On December 31, 1978, he married the former Teresa I. Burgess and together they celebrated 43 years of marriage.

Chub was a 1975 graduate of Montgomery High School.  After high school, he served honorably in the US Army.  He worked for various local farms and as a landscaper.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and doing latch hook.  Chub was an avid NASCAR, Penn State, and Dallas Cowboy fan.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson.

In addition to his wife, Teresa, he is survived by his two sons: Duane Wommer, of Jersey Shore, and Earl Wommer Jr., of Muncy; four grandchildren: Alex, Mikah Cuchine, Hope, and Gabriel Wommer; one great-grandson: Cameron Cuchine; one sister: Freda J Schodt and her husband Harry, of Trout Run; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, James Cuchine, and a brother, Howard “Sonny” Wommer.

There will be a memorial service held at 12:00 (Noon) on Saturday, October 30th, at First Baptist Church of Elimsport, 16818 State Route 44, Allenwood, Pa 17810, with Rev. Todd Baker, officiating.
