Dorothy M. (Wagner) Anderson

Dorothy M. Anderson, 86, of Anthony Twp., Muncy, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.

Born October 11, 1936 in Milton, she was the daughter of the late Rufus J. and Martha V. (Walls) Wagner.  She married Martin L. Anderson, Jr. and together they celebrated 37 years of marriage until his passing on November 25, 1992.

Dorothy was a 1954 graduate of North Mont High School in Turbotville.  She volunteered for Evangelical Hospice for over 20 years, and she worked at McCormick Dray Lines in Muncy.  She was a member of Delaware Run Wesleyan Church, Watsontown for over 76 years.

She was an avid camper, and enjoyed traveling visiting various beaches and lighthouses.  Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, sewing and playing cards.  Also, she enjoyed writing to her friends and participating in various charity work.  Dorothy had a great passion for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one of her great loves was going to Halfway Dam.

She is survived by her son: Barry M. Anderson and his wife Lynn, of Turbotville; a daughter:  Laurie A. Anderson and her spouse Kris, of Muncy; two grandchildren: Patrick M. (Dawn) Anderson, of New Berlin and Brandi Anderson, of Northumberland; two great-grandchildren: Colby (Haley) Anderson and Kimberly Anderson, both of New Berlin; and one great-great-grandchild:   Jordan Raye Anderson, of Northumberland.

Besides her parents and husband, Martin, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Anderson, and a brother, James Wagner.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10 to 11 AM on Saturday, January 28, at Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ, 1125 Mahoning Street, Milton, with a memorial service held at 11:00 AM.
