Donna Lou Strouse, 87, of the Danville area, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Valley View Rehab & Nursing Center, Montoursville.
Born June 13, 1937 in Danville, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Grace (Blue) Bankes. On June 30, 1956 she married Arden H. “Ike” Strouse, and together they celebrated 63 years of marriage before his passing in 2019.
Donna was a graduate of Danville High School. She worked at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville in the housekeeping department, retiring in 2000.
She was a member of Washingtonville Lutheran Church.
Donna enjoyed riding and was a member of GWRRA Pennsylvania Chapter H Motorcycle Club with her husband. They also traveled to Australia, and by bike to most of the States, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing. Above all, she cherished time spent with family.
Donna is survived by a son, Arden W. Strouse and his wife, Betsy; two daughters, Teri Kephart, and Sherry Lou Ryan and her husband, John; five grandchildren, Jonathan Shawley, Heather Young, Allen Strouse, Shawn Ryan, and Todd Ryan; and five great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Catherine Shawley, Jack and Knox Young, and Sofia Whiteknight.
In addition to her husband and parents, Donna was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell E. Bankes, and a son-in-law, Robert Kephart.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 12-1 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville, where a memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jay Burkholder, officiating. Burial will follow at Exchange Cemetery.
