Dennis A. "Denny" Dewire

Dennis A. “Denny” Dewire, 74, of Turbotville, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.

Born August 11, 1949 in Lewisburg, he was the son of the late Wilmer S. and Doris T. (Berkheimer) Dewire.  On April 5, 1975, he married the former Mary A. Brown, and together they have celebrated 48 years of marriage.

Denny served honorably in the US Navy SeaBees during the Vietnam War, and in Puerto Rico and Diego Garcia.  He was a life member of the Turbotville VFW – Muffly Huff Post 8206.  He worked various jobs, retiring from Geisinger Medical Center, Danville in 2016.  Denny enjoyed being with his family and gathering with all of his friends.

In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by his three daughters:  Denise A. Morehart and her husband Dave, Jamie A. Shrawder, and her husband Brian, and Janet M. Krieger and her husband Clayton; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother:  David (Lonnie) Dewire of Hughesville; and three sisters:  Connie (Glenn) Robbins of Watsontown; Bonnie (Dennis) Plymette of Mechanicsburg; and Debra Paige of Watsontown

There will be a graveside service with full military honors held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 13th at Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy, with Rev. Doug Schader, Trinity United Church of Christ, Turbotville, officiating.
