Brian Michael Hemrick, 58, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at his home in Lewisburg.
Born June 2, 1965 in Alexandria, VA, he was the son of John M. Hemrick and the late Eleanor J. (Conard) Hemrick. He grew up in rural Turbotville, and was a 1983 graduate of Warrior Run High School and a 1987 graduate of Bloomsburg University.
He was employed as an accountant for the majority of his working years. Most notably, he worked as the Controller at Keystone Forging Company in Northumberland for 20 years.
Brian found immense joy and fulfillment in being a father and grandfather. Known as “Pappy” to his young granddaughters, he was always eager to make them smile and laugh with his silly antics or his tone-deaf singing. To his adult children, he was a shining example of selfless service and reliability. You could often find him in the kitchen creating tasty meals for his family or working hard around the house, completing various improvement projects. He also volunteered as a youth soccer and football coach when his children were younger. Brian enjoyed supporting Penn State Wrestling as a season ticket holder and Penn State Football.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Lauren and Matthew Brown of Spanish Fork, UT; a son, Ryan Hemrick, of Lewisburg; two granddaughters: Elliott and Lily Brown; his former wife, Lisa (Magargle) Hemrick; his sister and brother-in-law: Sharon and John Chamberlin, of Muncy; a nephew, Chris Chamberlin and nieces: Renee Chamberlin, Jen and Noelle Magargle; and his former in-laws: Barry and Frances Magargle.
Besides his mother, Eleanor, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Andrew Magargle.
Services to honor Brian’s life will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Wreaths Across America or the Central PA Food Bank.
