Audrey D. (Umpstead) Costill

Audrey Dawn Costill, 69, of Montgomery, Pa passed away peacefully in her home on August 5, 2024. She was born on March 27, 1955 in Muncy, Pa to the late Richard and Margaret (Swope) Umpstead. 

She was a 1973 graduate of Montgomery Area High School where she was a part of the first Lady Raider Basketball team. 

During her life, Audrey has had many roles. She was a member of the Montgomery Legion Auxillary where she managed the Auxillary Bingo for many years, taught Sunday School at St. John's church, was a Worthy Advisor for the Rainbow Girls and a troop leader for Girl Scouts. She enjoyed gardening, supporting Montgomery School District athletic events, her weekly Chinese lunches, coffee and donuts for breakfast and spending time with all of her family, especially her grandsons. She was formerly employed by J.C. Decker's in Montgomery, Pa. 

Audrey worked in the Plans and Print Room at District 3-0 PennDOT for the past 25 years where she was in charge of the archival of print resources. Over the years she was a member of the Safety Committee, sold daffodils for the Cancer Society in the spring, a recent member of the 25 Year Club and served on the Employee of the Month Committee.

Audrey is survived by her daughter Stephanie Costill (Zachary Murray) and two grandsons, Caleb Costill and Landon Murray, all of Hughesville, Pa. In addition she is survived by her 'favorite' five siblings, Carolyn Girard, Montgomery, Pa; Richard Umpstead (Deb Narber), Muncy, Pa; Linda and Richard Bower, Bellwood, Pa; Florence Wolfe, Turbotville, Pa; Hugh and OkSun Umpstead, Montgomery, Pa; and many 'favorite' nieces and nephews.

She was preceeded in death by her husband Richard L. Costill and her brother Benjamin P. Reaser

Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 12 to 1 PM on Monday, August 12, at St. John's Lutheran "Brick" Church, Montgomery, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Rev. James Girven, officiating.  Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
