Shirley C. (Ryder) Love

Shirley C. Love, 79, of Watsontown, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born June 28, 1939 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Irvin S. and Catherine (Snyder) Ryder.  On June 23, 1962, she married Glenn F. Love and they have celebrated 56 years of marriage.  

She was a 1958 graduate of Watsontown High School and a wonderful homemaker all her married life.

She enjoyed doing word-find puzzles, playing dominos, watching hummingbirds and tending to her flowers.  She loved spending time with her family, especially all her grandchildren.

Surviving besides her husband are four sons and daughters-in-law:  Franklin G. and Shelley C. Love, Danville; Roy I. and Donna M. Love, Watsontown;  “Arthur” Andy and Michelle L. Love, Milton; and Robert M. and Jody A. Love, Millville; eight grandchildren:  Emily, Jesse, Felicia, Andrew, Jazmine, Aric, Juli, and Dallas; five great-grandchildren: Emilynn, Remington, Perrin, Eli, and Jade; a brother, Robert Ryder & wife Sandy, Turbotville and a sister, Judy Sones & husband Dale, Clarkstown; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Sean Patrick Love in 1990; her step-mother, Martha Ryder in 1995, and a sister, Jean Silverman in 2009.

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville where the funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ryan Reigh of Millville Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) officiating.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
