Robert E. DeWald, 80, of Williamsport, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Rose View Center.
Born in Williamsport on October 18, 1938, he was the son of the late Clarence and Mabel (Hall) DeWald. On December 3, 1960 he married the former Frances Vengoechea and they celebrated 41 years of marriage until her death April 9, 2002.
He was a 1957 graduate of Williamsport High School and had worked for Sylvania, Textron, and Brodart’s.
He enjoyed hunting, ballroom dancing, gardening, and growing bonsai trees.
He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Williamsport.
Surviving are two daughters: Amy Wilk and her husband Joseph of Allenwood and Beth Robbins and her husband Frank of Moyock, NC; two sons: David DeWald and his wife Evelyn of Jersey Shore and Robert DeWald in Arizona; six grandchildren: Theodore and Jacob DeWald; Courtney and Baily Wilk; and Noah and Olivia Robbins; and two great-grandsons.
Preceding him in death besides his wife was a brother, Kenneth DeWald and a sister, Doris Wingrove.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 10:30 AM Monday, December 17, 2018 at Twin Hills Memorial Park where his pastor, the Rev. Brian VanFossen will officiate.
