Richard Sterner Obituary

Richard A. H. “Dick” Sterner, 71, of Watsontown, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 at UPMC Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

Born March 11, 1948 in Allentown, he was the son of the late Richard H. and Esther (Kratzer) Sterner.  On September 23, 1972, he married the former Marcia L. Grube and they have celebrated 47 years of marriage.

Richard was a 1967 graduate of Louis E. Dieruff High School.

He served with the US Army. After his time in the service he worked as a truck driver.

Richard enjoyed trains, corvettes, and photography. Richard was also a member of the Fingerlake Live Steamers Club.

Surviving besides his wife, Marcia, is his son: Steven A. Sterner and his wife Charlene, of Hughesville; his daughter: Heather Doran and her husband Michael, of Westfield; two grandchildren: Kari and Benjamin Doran; and one brother Michael Sterner, of Allentown.

Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Richard’s memory can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
