Rachel Fay Cotner, 92, of Comley Road, Turbotville, passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.
Born August 19, 1927 in Watsontown, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Edith (Kline) Bieber. On November 6, 1971 she married Thurman "Pete" Cotner and they celebrated 15 years of marriage until his death March 12, 1987.
During her working years, she had been employed at the former Myco's, and Fox Knapp, both of Milton and the Turbotville Dress Company.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Turbotville and former member and past-president of the Turbotville Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary.
She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Surviving are one son, the Rev. Ronald C. Schaeffer and his wife Nellie of Confluence, PA; three daughters: Virginia A. Houser and her husband Gary of York; Linda D. Templin of Hughesville; and Judy L. Yeager and her husband Roger of Muncy; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband were a son, Larry Schaeffer, a brother, Lawrence Bieber, and four sisters: Hazel Arthur, Marie Bartlow, Dorothy Alexander, and Pearl Simpson.
Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019 at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with her son, the Rev. Ronald Schaeffer and her minister, Pastor Doug Schader co-officiating. Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery.
