Miriam F. Bower, 91, of Gearhart Road, Watsontown, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Evangelical Community Hospital.
Born September 16, 1927 in Watsontown, she was the daughter of the late William W. and Lula A. (Waite) Frederick. She was married to Eugene K. Bower for 25 years until his death September 13, 1971.
She was a 1945 graduate of Watsontown High School.
She had worked at the former Philco/Ford-Zenith Corp., Watsontown and retired from Brodart’s.
She was a member of Watsontown United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading, knitting, and spending time with her children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are a son and his wife, John W. and Bobbi Bower of Galeton; a daughter, MariLee G. Bower, of Watsontown; two grandchildren, Leslie P. Harnish and Jenelle Longacre; five great-grandchildren: Austin and Kaylyne Delsite; Heather Longacre, and Aden and Ava Richardson; two sisters: JoAnn Golder of Watsontown and Dorris Jean Waltman of New York; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her husband was a daughter, Theresa Leighow (1995); three sisters: Pauline Wertman, Marguerite Huff, and Dorothy Lupold; and two brothers: Charles and Carl Frederick.
Friends and family are invited to call from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Brooks Funeral Home and Cremation Svc, PC, 124 Main Street, Watsontown and from 10 to 11:00 AM Thursday at Watsontown United Methodist Church, 1319 Eighth Street Drive, Watsontown where the funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday with the Rev. Ryan Krauss, her pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Presbyterian Cemetery, McEwensville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Miriam’s memory be made to her church.
