Lorraine E. Tanner, 96, of Turbotville, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at her home.
Born July 4, 1922 in Milton, she was the daughter of the late George J. and Elizabeth G. (Byers) Yocum. She was married to Walter L. Tanner for 68 years until his death June 10, 2014.
She was a 1940 graduate of Milton High School and a homemaker all her married life.
She taught crafts at River View Manor for 30 years and was a member of the Fort Freeland Heritage Society and Trinity United Church of Christ, Turbotville. She also taught Sunday school for many years at her church.
Surviving are two sons, James E. Tanner of Turbotville and George W. Tanner of Berwick; three grandchildren: Reg A. Tanner, Terry L. Tanner, and Sheri A. Gudonis, three great-grandchildren: Garrett A. and Seth W. Tanner and Lita G. Gudonis, one great-great-granddaughter, Ellie R. Tanner, and one sister, Margaret Klassen, of Lewisburg.
Family and friends are invited to call 10 to 11 AM on Thursday, May 16, at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville where the funeral will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Andrew Weaver, United Lutheran Church, Sunbury, officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
