Lois M. Auker, 93, Musser Lane, Watsontown, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 31, 2018 while residing at Muncy Valley Skilled Nursing.
Born October 1, 1925 in Pine Twp., Columbia County, she was the daughter of the late James Monroe and Edith Mae (Cooper) Crist. On December 10, 1946 she married Merrill W. Auker and they celebrated 63 years of marriage until his death on January 9, 2010.
She was employed as a seamstress at the former Weldon’s, and retired from Montgomery Sportswear in 1992. She also sewed for many family and friends over the years.
Lois was the oldest member of Delaware Run Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday school for decades. She demonstrated Christ's unconditional love, she loved to read her Bible, and was a very generous and loving person.
She enjoyed embroidery, puzzles, outside flower gardening, cooking, and canning.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law: Merrill J. and Sherie Auker, Allenwood and David I. and Karen Auker, Muncy; two daughters and a son-in-law: Darlene and David McCarty, Watsontown and Doris M. Morrison, Williamsport; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Wertz, Allenwood; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death besides her husband was a son, Wilbur L. Auker in 1985; a son-in-law, Stanley Morrison; four grandchildren: Shawn J., Kelly S., Wilbur “Buddy” Auker and Tina L. Morrison; two brothers: Clayton and Ralph Crist; and four sisters: Ruth, Edna, Maude, and Mildred.
Family and friends are invited to call from 9 to 11:00 AM Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Delaware Run Wesleyan Church, 5570 Musser Lane, Watsontown where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Michael Reece officiating. Burial will follow in Presbyterian Cemetery, McEwensville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Lois’s memory be made to support her granddaughter, Sherrill Auker’s mission work in Congo, Africa and can be made payable to Overland Missions C/O David Auker, 343 Gearhart Road, Muncy, PA 17756.
