Leroy W. Shrawder, 90, Lewisburg, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Elmcroft, Lewisburg where he had resided since June.
Born August 11, 1928 in Snyder County, he was the son of the late Lewis and Bessie (Walter) Shrawder. On May 14, 1949 he married the former Virginia L. “Ginny” Gauger and they celebrated 67 years of marriage until her death February 4, 2017.
Leroy served in the US Army during WWII until he was honorably discharged early to return home and assist with the family farm following his father’s death.
He had worked at Glen Gery Brick Company, Watsontown and Ritz-Craft in Mifflinburg.
He was a member of the former McEwensville Fire Company and was well known in the area for his small engine repair business.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Jacquelyn S. and Richard W. Fernald of Blue Ridge, VA.
Preceding him in death besides his wife was a brother, Marlin Shrawder and a sister, Leona Bachman.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at the Presbyterian Cemetery, McEwensville with Pastor Dale Hippensteel of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Milton officiating.
