Donald G. West, 75, of Milton, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019 on his birthday at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Born June 19, 1944 in Mahoning Twp., Montour Co., he was the son of the late Donald E. and Peggy M. (Freakes) West. On February 7, 1992, he married the former Paulette S. Eves and they celebrated 27 years of marriage.
He was a 1962 graduate of Danville High School. After high school, he served in the US Air Force from 1962 to 1966. Don worked for Merck Pharmaceuticals for 31 years, retiring in 2005.
Don was a lifetime member of Lewisburg American Legion Post 182 and Milton VFW Post 1665. He served as a past commander at Danville American Legion Post 40. He was also a member of the Milton Moose Lodge 171, Continental Fire Co. in Danville, Washies Fire Co. in Danville, and North Montour Sportsman Club.
He enjoyed bowling at the Danville Moose and going on cruises. He loved sitting on his porch, and was very fond of Genny Light.
In addition to his wife Paulette, he is survived by his two sons: Michael West, and Barry L. Kramer and his wife Annette, of Milton; two daughters: Michelle West-Jones, and Tammy Kramer; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jane.
Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 AM on Tuesday June 25, at Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Svc PC, 207 Broadway St, Turbotville, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Butch Woolsey, officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg.
