Barbara T. (Troester) Nicholas

Barbara T. Nicholas, 78, of Watsontown, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 19, 2019 at her home.

Born May 12, 1940 in Lewisburg, she was the daughter of the late D. Armin and Althea M. (Bieber) Troester.  On January 1, 1960 she married Jacob A. Nicholas and they have celebrated 59 years of marriage.

She was a 1958 graduate of Watsontown High School and retired from Country Cupboard, Lewisburg.

She was a member of St. John’s “Delaware Run” Evangelical Lutheran Church, Watsontown.

Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and cherished her grandchildren.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and shopping.

Surviving besides her husband are two daughters and sons-in-law: Christina N. and Dennis Crawford of Liverpool and Lynn N. and Patrick Maynard of Milton; a son and daughter-in-law: Christopher A. and Kelly Nicholas of Watsontown; three grandchildren: Steven Crawford, Nicole Crawford, and Olivia Maynard; and a sister, Roxanne T. Fisher of Watsontown.

Family and friends are invited to call from noon to 1:00 PM Thursday at Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Svc, PC, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with the Rev. James A. Beck officiating.  Burial will follow in Delaware Run Cemetery.
