Hugh Foresman Obituary

Hugh F. Foresman 87, of Limestone Twp., Watsontown, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born November 13, 1936 in Allenwood, he was the son of the late David W. and Helen M. (Fritz) Foresman.  On October 11, 1958 he married the former Carol D. Hafer and together they celebrated 64 years of marriage until her passing on March 18, 2023.

Hugh attended Montgomery High School and served honorably in the US Navy.  He retired from his maintenance electrician job at AC&F after 30 years of service during which time he also farmed with his brother Richard (Dick) Foresman and continued working with him in an excavation business for many years afterward.  Hugh was very well known as a skilled mechanic, being able to fix almost everything, especially having the knack to fix tractors.

He was a lifetime member of the Watsontown American Legion Post 323 and the Washington Presbyterian Church, Allenwood.  Hugh had a great gift to be able to talk to anyone and loved all the time he could spend with his grandchildren and entire family.

He is survived by his three children: Margaret L. Oberlin, of Lewisburg, Michael E. Foresman and his spouse Jamie Walter, of Pryor, OK, and Jeffrey A. Foresman and his companion Samantha Watts, of Watsontown; 8 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son: Hugh "Rick" Foresman: five brothers: David, Robert, Daniel, Richard, and James Foresman; and one sister:  Susan M. Reaser.
