Gary D. Saul

Gary D. Saul, 71, of Catawissa, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born May 18, 1952 in Allentown, he was the son of the late Charles and Arla (Deemer) Saul.  On September 21, 1991 he married the former Diane A. Ranck and they have celebrated 32 years of marriage.

He was a 1970 graduate of William Allen High School in Allentown and was a carpenter with Zartman Construction Company for many years. He also enjoyed working with his wife with their sign business.

He enjoyed visiting Chincoteague Island, Virginia and working in his garden but most of all he loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

Gary was a gentle and caring person. He liked joking around with people whether they were a friend or a stranger.

Surviving besides his wife, Diane Saul is a daughter, Kelly E. Saul-Bromwell and her husband Rob of Danville; four sons: David G. Saul and his wife Ashley of Danville; Matthew C. Waltman and his companion Melissa Karas of Jeannette; Luke R. Waltman and his wife Nicole of Watsontown and Andrew D. Waltman and his wife Michelle of Turbotville; 12 grandchildren: Tyler, Madi, Caitlin, Emma, Kahley, Cason, McKenzie, Mollie, Samantha, Amelia, Hudson, and Wilder; and a great-grandson, Bowie.  Also surviving are his beloved doodles, Brewster and Betzi.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held from 4:00-6:00PM on Friday, April 5, 2024 at White Deer Valley Baptist Church, 572 White Deer Valley Baptist Church Road, Allenwood with Pastor Mike Deal officiating.  Burial will be held privately.
