Richard L. Fenerty, 86, of 5 Fenerty Lane, Turbotville, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa.
Born November 16, 1924 in Peterborough, New Hampshire, he was the son of the late Frank and Ruby (Tetley) Fenerty. He was married to the former Helen A. Muellerstein who passed away on February 18th 2011. Married on December 26, 1945 they had celebrated 65 years of marriage.
He was a 1942 graduate of York High School in Maine, and was a US Navy Veteran serving in WWII and Korea.
An avid reader, he enjoyed politics, and spending free time participating in community service.
Richard served as the Anthony Township Supervisor, and plant manager at the former Zenith Corporation in Watsontown.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Ginger Fenerty of Waynesboro, VA. A brother and sister-in-law: Ronnie and Linda Fenerty of Dover, NH. A sister and brother-in-law: Gloria and Joseph Chapin of Nashua, NH. Also surviving are three Grandchildren, eight Great-Grandchildren and three Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Preceding him in death besides his wife, is a son: Patrick Fenerty, two Brothers: Stanley and Pete, and a sister: Shirley.
Family and friends are invited to call Saturday at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville from 12-2 pm, a life celebration will take place at 2 pm for a time of sharing and remembrance. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
